ATM-to-RS232
VME
Card
The AtA-4RS232 is a single-slot 6Ux160 VME card which provides
four RS232/485 channels, voltage, temperature, and humidity monitors,
and a signal generator with interfaces to an ATM network. The card
functions include an AAL processor, 155 Mbit/s ATM-SONET OC-3c fiber
optic interface, selectable RS-232/485 serial ports, programmable
signal generator, temperature sensor, humidity sensor, and VME
backplane voltage sensors. The card can be used for general purpose
interface, control, system monitoring, and calibration in sensor
networks and data acquisition systems. The card includes an embedded
diagnostic signal generator for card and network test, status LEDs,
and a timing input port for optional synchronization or
time-tagging. The card is compatible with commercially available ATM
switches, interface cards, and test equipment. |

ATM-to-FPDP VME
Card The PSI ATM-to-FPDP
Card provides a data bridge between an ATM-SONET OC-3c network port
and an FPDP bus. The card can be configured to move data from FPDP
to ATM (FPDP-IN) or from ATM to FPDP(FPDP-OUT). When configured as
FPDP-IN, the card captures FPDP frames with a FIFO/RAM memory
buffer, formats the data into AAL5 PDUs with a processor, and
transmits the data via an ATM-SONET OC-3c fiber optic interface.
When configured as FPDP-OUT, the card does the reverse process: it
receives ATM-SONET AAL5 PDUs from the network and puts the data into
memory, formats the data into FPDP frames, and transmits the frames
via the FPDP bus. |

TAXI-FPDP VME Card
The TAXI-to-FPDP Card is a single slot 6U VME card which converts
TAXI fiber optic telemetry to FPDP data. FPDP output data can be
received on any one of the TAXI RX ports or inverse multiplexed
across 2 or 3 RX ports. The TAXI TX ports can be used for
transmitting controls or timing. A hardware sync pulse output,
synchronized to RX port data, provides an optional mechanism to
synchronize external systems or multiple TAXI-to-FPDP cards. An
Ethernet network interface provides a TCP/IP link to an embedded web
page server which provides HTML web-based monitoring and control of
the card. The web page functions include monitoring of TAXI-link
errors, data-format errors, and command errors, as well as card
control. |

Timing Transmitter
(AtA-TTX) VME card The
PSI Timing Transmitter (AtA-TTX) VME card provides for fiber optic
distribution of timing signals in applications such as sensor
networks and remote data acquisition. The card has two clock inputs
(T1, T2) on BNC connectors for connection to a master clock source
(e.g., GPS Clock Receiver) and up to 8 fiber optic outputs for the
transmission of the clocks. On-board programmable logic,
phase-lock-loops, and selectable delay elements provide custom
frequency synthesis and clock edge crafting. |

Timing Receiver (AtA-TRX)
VME card The Timing
Receiver (AtA-TRX) VME card provides a high-performance solution for
fiber optic distribution of timing clocks in applications such as
sensor networks and data acquisition. Intended for use in
conjunction with the AtA-TTX card and Analog-to-ATM TM (AtA) A/D
cards, the Timing Receiver card provides 2 fiber optic
receiver ports, low jitter phase lock loops, clock multiplication,
clock frequency synthesis, and three timing port outputs. On-board
programmable logic, phase-lock-loops, and selectable delay elements
provide custom frequency synthesis and clock edge crafting. |
